I think the best thing about fall is that you get to change out your wardrobe, maybe try out a new hair color, new comfort food recipes, whatever. But with the cold weather and cute clothes, most of us are going to experience a change in our skin needs and as a result of that, a change in our makeup needs. For most of us, oily, dry or combo skin, that means drier, duller, and flat out blah looking skin. Here are 5 of my favorite foundations that’ll keep you stunning and going all fall season long.

NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Foundation

Perfect for: Normal, Oily to combo skin

Pro Tip: This product was a collab between NYX and the gorgeous Alissa Ashley. If you’re oily, you can ditch the mattifying primer with this foundation or opt for a hydrating primer. Cold weather or not, you want to hydrate nightly to maintain your skin’s moisture balance. Set with your favorite setting spray. Dry Skin gals, moisturize like your life depends on it, then use a hydrating primer. You’ll also want to set with a hydrating spray, i.e.: Mario Badescu Rosewater Toning Mist or MAC Fix+ Prime and Setting Spray

Pro Tip: The holy grail of tinted moisturizers (until I find something else similar with SPF that doesn’t make me look ashy or make me break out). It’s great for when you want a little something but not too much. It comes in 3 formulas to fit any skin type: normal, oily free, and illuminating. You can always go over it with a tinted translucent powder or your favorite pressed foundation for a hint of extra coverage.
