Finally, Some Light Coverage Foundation & Tinted Moisturizer Options

Finally, Some Light Coverage Foundation & Tinted Moisturizer Options

It feels like a new full coverage foundation drops every few weeks and while some of us love a good full coverage foundation, it’s not for everyone or for every season. If Houston hasn’t taught me anything else, it has taught me that SUMMER IS HOT. We’ve already had a couple of 90+ degree days here and we haven’t even touched June yet. So just a heads up, it’s gonna be a scorcher!

With that in mind, NOW is probably the time to revamp your foundation collection with a lighter formula or coverage if you haven’t already. Something more breathable, with buildable coverage in case you want the option of having more coverage.

I did some digging and found some light coverage foundations that fit can fit anyone’s budget or skin needs.

Black Radiance True Complexion BB Cream $6

This formula is actually a BB creme & has an amazing Price point.. It over-performs considering its only $7. It smooths, evens, and correct. This is currently a staple for me. My skin is combo oily, and I wear this when I want a more dewey finish. I love that it’s a very natural, skin-like finish and doesn’t leave me looking or feeling greasy. It’s ideal for darker skin tones, which is great because it’s often hard to find something with SPF that doesn’t leave a weird tint to the skin You can apply it with your fingers or a flat head foundation brush.

Milk Makeup Sunshine Skin Tint spf 30 $42

A relatively newer brand, MILK Makeup Sunshine Tint is a buildable coverage foundation, with SPF, and its VEGAN. It gives a dewey finish and comes in 8 shades to choose from. The packaging isn’t my favorite. This is a great formula if your skin is on the drier side. If you’re oily, I highly recommend either using a mattifying primer underneath or putting a bit of setting powder after you moisturize before you put on the skin tint. Just to help keep you from getting too dewey, if you know what I’m sayin.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation $47

When it comes to foundation and concealers, NARS is probably hands down my favorite line and my go to, period. Though it is a bit on the pricier side, it’s great for beginners or those wanting something quick & easy to apply because most of the line is meant to be applied with the fingers. NARS recently extended their shade range so find a friend at Sephora to help you find your shade. The Sheer Glow Foundation is technically a medium to full coverage foundation but the formula is so so lightweight, you’ll forget you have anything on.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 $46

This tinted moisturizer is good & faithful. When I first started using tinted moisturizers, I fell in love with it because it gave me all kinds of protection from the sun, didn’t break my skin out, & had so many shades to pick from that I easily found my match. The tinted moisturizer also comes in an oil free formula with the same 15 shades to choose from. I’ve tried the oil free formula several times, but my skin just does better with the regular formula.

Next up on my wishlist is The Ordinary Serum Foundation. It costs around $7. I’ve heard great things about it & I’m excited to get your feedback on it & try it.

If there any other light coverage foundations you recommend, please leave a comment and share.
